Your access to and use of Russian Reading (the "Service") is governed by these Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with these terms. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Operator Identity
Russian Reading operates this website and is responsible for the Service provided under these Terms of Service.
3. Description of Service
Russian Reading is an educational platform providing adapted Russian stories with audio for Russian language learners. The Service includes:
- Access to a library of adapted Russian stories
- Audio accompaniment for each story
- Reading progress and saved-favorite tools, synchronized through Supabase for signed-in accounts and cached locally for device continuity
- Premium content available via subscription
4. User Account
To use certain features of the Service, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information when registering
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Certain features of the Service are available via subscription. Payments are processed through Polar. The following terms apply:
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account or by contacting us
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
Due to the digital nature of the service, subscriptions are generally non-refundable. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law. If you experience a billing issue or accidental charge, contact support and we will review it and do our best to assist you.
We may change subscription pricing from time to time. Existing subscribers will be notified before any pricing changes take effect.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Copy, distribute, or reproduce content without permission
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Interfere with the operation of the Service or servers
- Access the Service by unauthorized means
- Create multiple accounts to abuse free trial periods
7. Intellectual Property
All content in the Service, including text, audio, graphics, and logos, is the property of Russian Reading or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use, copy, or distribute any content without our prior written consent.

9. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service.

11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Russian Reading shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or other intangible losses resulting from the use or inability to use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or otherwise create legal or operational risks for the Service.
14. Account Deletion
You can start self-service account deletion from your Account page after a recent sign-in. The workflow removes your profile, synchronized reading progress, and saved favorites, cancels renewable billing when supported, and removes the authentication identity. If self-service deletion is unavailable, contact support. Certain information may be retained or anonymized where required by law, including billing, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or security records.
15. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of European Union. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of European Union.
