Reading guide
Beginner’s guide

Try a few Russian sentences first. Can you follow who is involved, where they are and what happens? Use the English whenever you need it.

  • A1: everyday words and simple scenes.
  • A2: connected events, descriptions and reasons.
  • B1: longer accounts, explanations and a speaker’s intention.

If every sentence needs word-by-word decoding, choose an easier or shorter story. If the main idea is already clear, try a more demanding text. These are reading choices, not a level assessment.

After reading, choose one useful phrase, check it in Study and try using it in a new sentence. On your next visit, recall it before revealing its meaning.
